Robotics for Good Youth Challenge โ€“ Somalia

Hargeisa, Somalia โ€” Official Launch: December 2025

XareyeAI is pleased to invite primary schools, secondary schools, and universities across Somalia to participate in the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2025โ€“2026.

This UN-based global robotics competition empowers young innovators aged 8โ€“25 to design, build, and program autonomous robotic solutions addressing real-world challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Winning teams will represent Somalia at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland.

About the Robotics for Good Youth Challenge

Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is a flagship ITU initiative under the AI for Good platform. Each year, the competition is inspired by a global development challenge where robotics and artificial intelligence offer practical solutions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals.

Participants gain hands-on experience in robotics, coding, teamwork, problem-solving, project management, and critical thinkingโ€”skills essential for the future workforce.

2025โ€“2026 Global Theme: Food Security

As agriculture faces increasing pressure from climate change, limited resources, and population growth, food systems must adapt to ensure productivity and sustainability. According to the FAO, agriculture must meet present and future needs while ensuring economic and social equity.

Robotics and AI offer transformative solutions such as precision farming, smart irrigation, pest management, crop monitoring, and automated harvestingโ€”helping to maximize yields and reduce waste.
